It all began during a visit to Leeds Castle in Kent, UK, where hidden within the castle's outbuildings, we stumbled upon a dog collar museum. What an unexpected delight it was! The meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail in those collars made us realize that a collar is more than just an accessory - it's an expression of love and pride. These collars served various functions and sported unique designs, catering to dogs of all sizes.
Fast forward about five years, and we welcomed Jesse into our lives - an English Pointer who quickly became the heart of our household. In our quest for a quality leather collar for her, we tried several local options, but they never seemed to stand the test of time. So, we decided to explore further afield and ordered one from the USA. This choice proved to be a winner, as it could withstand Jesse's adventurous spirit, including swims in the dam and rolls in the mud. Even after a thorough cleaning and polish, it still looked as good as new.

Fueled by a newfound passion, I embarked on a leathercraft course and began crafting dog collars and leads for Jesse, who also happens to be my running partner. Thus, Point Leather Collars was born, with Jesse gracing our logo - yes, that's her actual profile!

While we primarily operate online, we do have a studio in Linden, Johannesburg, which can be visited by appointment.
